Or would you only celebrate on leap years ?

And if you’re actually someone with a February 29 birthday how do you schedule it ?

I had a friend who was 32 at the time and she'd only had 9 birthdays . That was like 15 years ago maybe, i think about her often every leap year for her birthday, she had just met a guy, got married, got pregnant, i mean she was on cloud 9 and then she found out she was HIV positive i cried like a baby when she told me. The baby was okay last I'd heard. She cut herself off from everyone after that. I pray that she, her husband, and the kids are doing well. I couldn't imagine

I think I would feel like the 29th is still there, just squeezed into a tiiiiiny crack between the 28th and 1st so to get the whole day I’d have to think of both as my birthday. Otherwise it wouldn’t feel even. The more I think about it, the more grateful I am I landed in September. 😄
@JustNik Me, too. I have a friend born the same year as me, but on Feb 29 and in 2020 she threw a quinceanera for herself, similar to one she’d held for her daughter some years ago.

I would do it on the 28th, to be "loyal" to my birthday month!

Or maybe, in years that are not leap years, I would figure that since the calendar was cheating me out of a birthday that year, I should celebrate on BOTH days!

Gilbert and Sullivan figured this very paradox out,but I forget what they concluded and am too tired to go delving into Pirates of Penzance lore to weigh in on this topic. Maybe later. I would have fun messing around with this loophole were it to involve my birthday,rest assured.

I would choose February 28, because I have a grandson and a nephew with birthdays on March 1.

I once asked that same question of someone who was born on a February 29 - he replied that he always opted for March 1 in non-Leap years.

I know 2 people with that birthday and they both celebrate on Mar.1st in non leap years.

I never celebrate my birthday so I'll just count my age by the end of February.
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
Interesting question. I don't know, lol.
I'd be happy to only celebrate once every four years.
@MarbleMarvel I have a friend with that birthday. She celebrated her quinceanera in 2020. 😊
March 1 because A: I hate Feb B:March is closer to spring and that's a happy thought.

I would celebrate on 29th and feel age neutral in between
Convivial · 26-30, F
I wonder how is handled legally as regards your age?
@Convivial Legally, you have a birthday each year. 😊

You could always use the Julian Calendar and consider your birth date to be Day 60 of the Year.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard So, I think outside the box. (Used to work for a company that numbered their invoices based on the Julian Calendar.)
@ChipmunkErnie That sounds potentially confusing.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Not really. January 1 would be day one, so invoices for that day would be 2025001-1, 2025002-2, etc. January 2 would be invoiced 2025002-1, 2025002-2, etc. I have no idea WHY the owner of the business chose to do things that way, though.

January 1st
It will save alot of money.
@DanielsASJ That’s my actual birthday.
