What is happening to France?

Will this happen to all western countries that allowed unlimited migration? \

The Impact of Mass Immigration, Societal Collapse, and Political Consequences in France

The recent riots and unrest in France have brought to the forefront the complex issues surrounding mass immigration, societal collapse, and their political consequences. Prominent figures such as Pierre Brochand, former director general of the DGSE, and Jacques Attali, renowned economist and advisor, have shared their perspectives on these pressing matters. In this article, we will explore their insights and examine the common threads that connect them, ultimately offering actionable advice for addressing these challenges.

Pierre Brochand, in an exclusive interview with Le Figaro Magazine, boldly stated that the current state of affairs in France is a result of massive settlement immigration. He argues that the influx of immigrants has played a significant role in destabilizing the country. Brochand, drawing on his extensive experience as the director general of the DGSE, emphasizes the urgent need to address this issue, as the very survival of the nation is at stake. His statement underscores the gravity of the situation and calls for a comprehensive approach to immigration policies.

@Waveney In 2024, the United Nations estimated 9.2 million immigrants (foreign-born people) in France, representing 13.8% of the total population, making France the second largest foreign born population in Europe.

Yes Wavy I know you believe the French people are having too many babies. 🤣
Waveney · M
@DogMan Blimey, mate, you’ve got the calculator out now,🤣 but a percentage of foreign-born residents doesn’t prove migration caused every shortage in France.

Birthrate falls to post-war low as French people have less children
Births in France fell last year to their lowest annual number since the end of World War II in 1945, the national statistics bureau said on Tuesday.

So why is there no housing and over crowed schools? The left says it has nothing to do with migration.

Causes of School Overcrowding and Housing Shortages in France
School overcrowding and housing shortages in France are driven by a mix of demographic shifts, policy decisions, and socio-economic pressures, with recent protests highlighting the urgency of the crisis.

School Overcrowding
While France is experiencing a long-term decline in student numbers, certain areas still face overcrowding and resource strain. The main causes include:

Uneven population trends: National enrollment is falling by about 161,000 students from the 2025 to 2026 school year, with 1.7 million students expected to be lost over the next decade

. However, in some regions—especially urban and rural peripheries—population growth or migration has outpaced school capacity, leading to overcrowded classrooms and long travel times.
Waveney · M
@DogMan in some regions. And notice it also mentions "population growth". But it ain't the main cause, now is it. No. So it proves my point.

Correct the policy decisions, build more houses, increase funding - all that will go a helluva long way to solving the current problem. Kicking people out has never worked anywhere, and never will.
Waveney · M
Not true.

French students are protesting because their schools have too few teachers, overcrowded classrooms, and poor buildings. They also complain about long school days and pressure around university applications.

They're not blaming migrants. Students want the government to put more money and resources into education and improve their school conditions.
DogMan · 61-69, M
@Waveney It is because the government does not have the resources to provide everything for everyone.

Why is that? Maybe because they have millions of new people to take care of?

This is actually what the left wants to see happen in all western countries.

Who was it that wrote about overwhelming the system until everything breaks? Marxs? Piven?

It is a way to take down a country without firing a shot.
Waveney · M
@DogMan oooh talk about moving the goalposts! 🤣

You've gone from “students are protesting about education” to “Marxists are deliberately destroying Western countries”, and with absolutely no evidence connecting the two.

Piven? that's a right-wing conspiracy claim about Frances Fox Piven and Richard Cloward, not evidence that “the left” secretly engineered immigration to collapse countries, and blaming every pressure on public services on migrants is political storytelling, not an economic argument.

So if you’ve got evidence that the current student protests are part of some coordinated plan to “take down a country without firing a shot”, produce it; otherwise you’re just stitching together unrelated grievances and calling the result an explanation. It’s all a bit of a stretch, to be honest, just chucking every grievance into the same old immigration bucket doesn’t make it true, it just makes for a cracking story if you don’t stop to ask whether any of it actually stacks up.
DogMan · 61-69, M
The debates are progressively shifting into new fields. First, the alleged generosity of France’s welfare system is claimed to be the main pull factor for migrants. Second, migrants – particularly third-country nationals perceived as Muslim – are frequently depicted as a threat to French identity.

@DogMan This is too easy.

Because French birth rates are falling, you’ve decided that proves immigration is responsible for every overcrowded school. That’s quite a leap, mate.

France actually had fewer primary pupils but more teachers between 2015 and 2024, while the OECD points to staffing, policy and where people live as factors too.

So once again you’ve found a statistic you like and worked backwards to your conclusion. The evidence doesn’t quite say what you want it to say.

Ooo...boogie men to be afraid of.
What if you live your life, let others live theirs and not let others convince you that you need to be afraid of the "others".
"Will this happen...". Yes, you are afraid. See what your party has made of you?
Waveney · M
@Carla You're right. He's terrified. If only he realised that he's been lied to for decades, but particularly since 2025
DogMan · 61-69, M
France’s school problems are a combination of chronic underfunding, staffing shortages, overcrowding, and inequality. We are supposed to believe that the French people are having too many babies.

The unfettered immigration has nothing to do with the overcrowding and inequality problems.
Waveney · M
@DogMan There is no "unfettered immigration". Therefore it has nothing to do with the overcrowding and inequality problems.

You're right.
