Is anyone on SW close to the California wild fires ???

It looks pretty bad,i wonder if the people have enough insurance to cover their losses ????

Hard to say because insurers have been dropping a lot of people for fire risk. The root causes are the actual risk and issues with the state of California - complicated topic actually. Either way I’m sure the insurers will try to short change everyone anyways.

Sometimes insurance doesn't cover things that are highly probable like flood if you live in a flood zone. I wonder if LA is similar.

@JimboSaturn hmm...
In a flood zone. Ive never known a lender that would make that loan. There are ways around using a regular mortgage lender though, i suppose.

@Carla That does make sense.

@JimboSaturn thinking about it though...i bet renters might not be able to get flood insurance.

@Carla Yeah,it is confusing,i hear in Florida it is hard to get insurance, I read some insurance companies are leaving the state,maybe the same in California ????

Next county south here…close enough that the smoke is killing my sinuses today. Still, I’m glad I’m down here rather than up there 🥺

Do you have enough extra money to pay for the damages (about $150 Billion.) We will all pay.
Ramrod · 46-50, M

Your house insurance premiums will increase and so will your federal taxes. Biden says that the feds will over 6 months of expenses due to the fires.
