Yes very much so
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
In several ways, yes.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
Considering the "wonder valley" project was estimated to dump the equivalent heat energy of multiple atom bombs a year that would be a definite yes.
BlueVeins · 26-30
Probably not, the amount of energy involved in a heat wave is colossal. I doubt data centers can really move the needle there.

@SnickersDOM That's fucked up.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
No, but the energy used to power them may be contributing to global warming.
jehova · 36-40, M
@SunshineGirl so yes?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@jehova No, I don't think the heat emitted would have much of an impact . . some facilities in any case recycle the energy through district heating systems. But data centres consume vast amounts of energy and if that energy is generated from non-renewable sources then they may be saud to be contributing to global warming.

@SunshineGirl id like to see industry analysis transparency and improvememt

Huhh?
If you really don't know I cannot help you?
Duhhh?
Nah. It's whatever, Jethro! Burn.

@jehova the answer is yes. Some environments are easier to harm than others but the whole is harmed by the burning of fuels and water use. If you don't already know I'm certain you're gaslighting, playing for the burn it all down team and smirking right at us.
jehova · 36-40, M
@Roundandroundwego yes and other factors are also involved. Yes pollution is bad you are focused most on fumes/exhaust (air pollution) . I’m suggesting heat pollution is not being accounted for. The environment (public) suffers and is harmed while the rich exploit the commons. This is not a new phenomenon yet we (society) are missing the most obvious part of the equation. Heat pollution from data centers.
