The trouble with climatologists is that their "heat records" only go back 100-150 years, any evidence of more extreme weather/climate in the past is largely ignored due to lack of accuracy (due to lack of technology) and lack of consistent documentation.
It's naive to think how things are, are how they've always been or how they always will be; irrespective of what little impact we have on climate over an extended period of time.
building cities in the middle of a desert might've been considered a "progressive" thing to do 100 years ago when resources were more abundant and populations were smaller. Las Vegas's city planners would probably feel differently today...
Society needs to learn the simple precept: we must adapt to nature/climate, not expect it to adapt to us
History has proven time and time again, those who challenge nature always and inevitably fail...

That’s just the natural climate. Water, like farmland is being bought up by the Elites who own corporations like Nestle and Black Rock. Years ago, I heard about Nestle wanting to control the water, just as Bill Gates is buying up the farmland in the US. It’s manmade alright, but not in the way you think. It’s a manufactured crisis to gain power and control for the New Liberal Order/NWO/ The Great Reset. Call it what you like, it’s about the few owing everything, and controlling every aspect of our lives.

@Carissimi A very small part of the population is LGBT but to hear the media talk one would think it is like 50%.
Even many of those who claim to be LGBT eventually decide they want to live a "normal" life so suddenly they are straight again.
Now about marriage - Isn't it funny that people worry about the feds or big tech watching us, invading our privacy YET people get married and end up getting nagged, micro managed, shamed, etc by some spouse?
People do not need to worry about big tech or the feds, they need to worry about that human living with them that they thought they were in love with. THAT is the real control freak. That problem goes way further back than any computer.

I don’t think they can be compared. Yes, some spouses can be very destructive, but you signed up to be sharing your most intimate life with this person. You didn’t sign up to have your privacy violated by the government and its agencies. One is with consent. The other is not. Both can do major damage in your life, but you can’t conflate a personal relationship with a violation of your Constitutional rights. @CestManan

@eli1601 Yep, every week a new crisis! 😆

Our inaction, and the continued denials by right-wing scientific illiterates, have contributed to the currect extreme climate changes. This is just the beginning, however. Strap in for a long period of extreme climate change and unprecedented weather events. We have done this to ourselves.

It's worse than just a drought.
The air currents are drying out the air before the air currents go over the land masses. This is happening in Italy and throughout Africa as well.
The nay sayers also refuse to look at Antarctica, nor the glaciers that are causing tidal waves in Greenland as they crash into the ocean.
It's worse all around the world. North, South, East and West.

Basing your predictions on a one off situation is a fools game.

@LegendofPeza You figure it out.

This very concering, as I live in southern Nevada and Lake Mead is drying up. Obviously, you can see where the water level was and where it is.

Mother nature natural global warming and man made global warming is not a good combination. 7.5 billion people on earth is way too many people now and is only getting worse........doesn't look good for humans in the next 100 years, if humans survive that long........I'll be dead in the next 20 years......so don't have to worry about it for to much longer.........JMO
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Jimmy2016 Your opinion is based on bad science. We can not confirm the population on earth and from birth rates the population is falling rather quickly at the moment.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 Your right I was wrong. the estimated population of the world is 7.96 Billion people in 2022........
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Jimmy2016 Estimated. The fact is the birthrate all over the world is so low that the population is dropping quickly. The only increase in populations we see is through immigration. Thus the depopulation problem is in the regions where they most need young people to replace the elderly.

not too get too gloomy and apocolyptic but really it is scary but this really is mans own doing in a way sadly [robingoodfellow]

Hey man, let those who don't see the writing on the wall be ignorant. Your life depends on it. If everyone knew then it would be 10 times harder to make preparations because everyone would be trying to get their hands on the same shit.
Just smile and wave dude. Smile and wave.
They'll run themselves right into the ground.

Is see reports like “hottest summer in 100 years”. So people go crazy. Well what happened 100 years ago? Wild fires are a normal phenomenon that have always happened. We now have people living in those areas so it becomes an issue.
The cities in the SW suck up water like crazy. Well it’s a desert. They build cities in a desert and wonder why water is in short supply.
The Midwest was covered in glaciers 12,000 years ago. I’d say things have warmed up a bit since then. Mammoth farts maybe?

@carpediem I hate to be that guy. But do you know the difference between these two statements "hottest summer in 100 years" and "Hottest summer for 100 years"? 😂

Already getting a bit scary in Europe. Unfortunately I feel we are too late to change things and need to adapt to the new normals.

Forecasts of 90º+ with sever thunderstorms and hail. Oh, and tornado warnings.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Probably hichhiking with gas at $20/gallon and a loaf of bread $10 under bidenflation
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Will you be talking about heat waves in January?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@CestManan What’s funny is not one person can name a time when there was no climate change. Guess they are deniers.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@MrBrownstone I mean climate change IS real, it happens every season. What remains to be explained though is why everyone thinks it is a catastrophe.
It's like they want to scare us with things that are completely normal. Eventually they will scare us with the fact that the sky is blue.

@CestManan People forget the 4 seasons.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Yeah where I live we have had a cool wet spring and summer. Rare days we get above 26 C. Last year was quite warm. You can not project into the future based on one.
Elessar · 26-30, M
If only someone warned us this would happen!

@Darksideinthenight2 I'm glad that things are good for you, honey. Damn the other 8 billion people on earth. The Alfred E. Newman approach: What, Me Worry ?

@Darksideinthenight2 they say that Nero fiddled while Rome burned
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Darksideinthenight2 believe it the people that live in the states that depend on lake Mead are running out of water. There is plenty of YouTube videos of people following it. There is this one man and his son they go out there every weekend and they keep detail measurements of the water. It is amazing how fast the water is dropping there.

It happens every so many years
