I used to save things like that. I had a sheet of foam, and finally did use it to make a foam sit-upon with a cut-out for a friend of mine, who spent so much time sitting on his a$$ his tailbone got sore.

We have a local website where people give away things. You might have something similar.

😆 can understand why but be careful you may become a hauder 😆 [scarfface]
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@smiler2012 that is already a thing 🤣

90% of everything
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@ChipmunkErnie I bet it's still useful
BridgeOvertroubledWaters · 61-69, M
Recycling what we can us very important
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I'm doing my best, reuse and reclaim
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Could come in handy in case someone needs. Too many shortages these days and price increases tied to the increase of petroleum
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@cherokeepatti I'd love it if my foam helped someone but I don't know how to make that happen... All that has gone
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
Give it away. Everything is useful, just not to everyone.
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@ninalanyon I'd love to do this but so much of it is rubbish
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Scarfface A sheet of foam would have been useful to me over the last couple of nights when I slept in my car while driving through Europe. I packed the car full of all sorts of things but forgot that so sleeping in my car was less comfortable than usual.
Anyway, when I have something like that I list it on our equivalent of Ebay/Craigslist/Gumtree. It's surprising what people will take of your hands and even pay you for. I sold four ancient Pentium CPUs last week. Only got the equivalent of 5 USD for them but that's still better than them being scrapped.

@Nimbus 😆😆 now now nimby i think you posted the wrong picture there. i think it was meant to be old trafford you should of shown

You forgot the “some things are useful at certain times.” I once went to an art gallery, and there was a pile of trash on the floor that had been varnished. It was an exhibit. It still looked like a useless pile of trash to me, but I guess someone found a use for it.
If you keep everything that might someday be potentially useful, you will find yourself surrounded by rubbish.
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@CorvusBlackthorne so true but I might miss some useful stuff if I clear out
I'll tell you what's rubbish. I posted this 17 hours ago, and only one person has seen it. What are the odds? Either this new algorithm is shit, or I'm being shadowbanned.

The first rule of simplifying:
Keep it and you'll never use it. Pitch it, and you'll wish you had it back within a week.
