Have ya'll heard about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars?

What do you think about this?
Torsten · 36-40, M
seemed fake as hell. He was laughing at the joke right before it, barely tapped Chris with a slap and started screaming dont talk about my wife.
Apparently at rehearsals the day before he also didnt care about the joke.

Those hollywood elites are fake and this seems like a stunt to get attention on that award show because no one gives a fuck about it anymore except for them
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Torsten It was Jada who was pissed. That’s when Will freaked out.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Fukfacewillie too bad if she was and even if any of it was real
Physical abuse is wrong, no matter the motives behind it.

In this case, I'd say that it's even worse because it looks staged... and coming off the back of Covid19 times when a lot of effort went into ensuring that people who live with domestic abuse always felt like they had a way out - I'm not entirely sure that this should have been green lighted, not even for "The Fresh Prince".

Assault is assault when Will's wife is a big girl and could have handled it differently herself.
I saw something about him slapping a Ukrainian reporter for kissing him on the lips.

Seems Will is a bit slaphappy. He should see somebody about that.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Mamapolo2016 He is the slap happy pappy.
Miram · 31-35, F
He seems like a good partner.

I would also slap a hoe for talking crap about mine.
Pfuzylogic · M
Chris needs to learn that when you say something slick about a guys wife you have to be on the defense when he is within fist throwing distance.
Selah ·
Who hasnt slapped the piss out of someone before?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
I hope his award is reclaimed. He's a self-absorbed idiot and doesn't deserve to be recognized for his emotional instability. Chris Rock is THE MAN for how he handled the situation on stage and after.
Allelse · 36-40, M
It's kind of strange, I mean he's alright with other guys banging his woman but not making a joke.
That should boost the ever dwindling ratings..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout With celebs one just never knows whether it's a publicity stunt or not 🤦‍♂️
@iMystery

Hollywood praised a man who committed assault and battery. The hypocrisy is dripping.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@ChipmunkErnie At the actual ceremony. That is “Hollywood.” It was the Oscars.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Fukfacewillie Gee, so the place and everyone in it, in the whole industry, has one mind and one reaction. Gotcha again. LOL
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@ChipmunkErnie Obviously not everyone, but at the ceremony it was as if nothing had happened. It was the Oscars, where the industry goes for its award ceremony. I wasn’t expecting this point to be controversial. Heck, I even hope I’m wrong and Smith is punished. But we both know that won’t happen.

And so yes, I call this hypocrisy because of how Hollywood generally supports non violence. Well, here it was, and Will wasn’t escorted out. He wasn’t arrested. He gave his speech, and received applause and laughter. Did you see it differently?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
It's...suspect. Dunno whether it's real or staged. Either way, it's a bad look.
iMystery · M
@uncalled4 Agreed
Who hasn’t at this point ? There are several threads about it.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard I heard about it on sport talk radio; the hostess of the show interrupted the sports to tell the whole story in outraged tones.
