Whats worse, an ice cold toilet seat or one that is still warm from the person before you ?

It used to be a joke amng families years ago with an outside loo as to who was going out first to warm the seat.

I remember the outside loo. It had a high cistern and in winter dad hung a paraffin lamp by it to stop the inlet pipe from freezing. This had the advantage of keeping the temperature there slightly above freezing as well as giving a dim light if a trip out there in the dark couldn't be avoided.
