Which attention to pay more attention to.. the one you get here or in real life?

I really don't like the term "offline" life. It minimizes the importance of real life connections. Which this society is doing less and less of.

I live in somewhat of a gated community with people of all kinds moving in and out all the time. So it's very hard to make any connections and those few connections are somewhat stand offish.

This is actually mainly due to the internet. It fosters less community mixing and helping of others.

All to often I see people isolate themselves just to their individual places with not only no attempt to interact with others yet sometimes with hostility when others even try.

A good example is the number of fights that have lately occurred among neighbors. It wasn't that bad only one decade ago and two decades ago a physical fight among neighbors here was unheard of, disagreements of course withstanding.

I would be a totally different person if others really cared more about their "real life" neighbors. Probably more caring rather than stand offish.

These fights really have effected me. Heck even the manager has needed me to escort her at times and I am nearly twice her age.
