I feel old what is an “Influencer” I know what the word means but ???

Started out on Twitter. It's someone with a very large following on social media. The larger the following, the more $s they get, for mentioned products, restaurants, services, etc.

They also go by “brand ambassador”. Basically men or women, who “sell” their “beauty” or because of their high traffic of followers, as a way to help sell products for businesses. They’re usually on instagram doing it.

It's an on-line advertising method - the "influencer" is the person you see and hear trying to persuade you to buy the product.
