How did Christian missionaries convince my ancestors to accept Christ?

So you heard of Jesus?
Meh.
Do you wanna accept him?
Nah.
He's the son of God.
Meh.
You wouldn't go to heaven if you don't accept him.
Meh.
He heals the sick.
Meh.
He walks on water.
Meh.
He turns water into wine.
Wait, did you say wine?

It was rather a "We convert you or we enslave you." Type of deal for most of history. They'd go in, learn local language and serve as an example of Christian living and Goodwill with education and healthcare offerings. If the natives were not essentially bribed into conversion through this step, then elimination would soon follow. "These savages refuse redemption"

@ViciDraco but in India, they brainwashed locals and rich and bribed them to accept their faith. Not sure if they did the same tactics on my ancestors
