Someone famous once said, "Women just aren't funny" I disliked Joan Rivers, but Phyllis Diller was hilarious. I've also seen Margaret Cho in concert.

Men. Not to say women can't be funny, they just have little incentive to be.
Men are more threatening physically, so humor can help put people at ease.
Men are less social than women, so comedy can be a way of bonding and belonging.
Men are less empathetic on average, so they can say risque things with a cleaner conscience.
Men have to pursue women to secure relationships, so humor is a way to prove their value.
Men also have less satisfying careers, so humor can be a way of relieving their own worries.

i think guys, since a lot (but not all) of female comedians just come off as too mean or snarky for me

@HunterDude That may be a reflection of how you view women. Your expectations may be different.

@bijouxbroussard maybe so, i dont like when guys do the same kind of humor. like when gay guys do the really catty snarky kind of humor. it's not really a guy or girl thing, i guess

Depends on the person and your sense of humor. I like both men and women whose humor clicks with my own.
