It鈥檇 be like jobs were all staffed by 16-year olds...*remembering how they would not call in when they鈥檇 be late or were sick, etc, how they would quit without any notice, and how many lasted one week to maybe a month*

@cherokeepatti Most of the temporary general labor jobs I've had over the past 5 years have been like that. Heck, I've worked with people who lasted just one day and never returned to the company.

@SubstantialKick They鈥檒l interview for a job, get called to come in to work and then never show up or call to say they aren鈥檛 taking the job. Some lasted till their first paycheck and then they鈥檇 never come back. The ones who did stay for a few months usually whined like they were slaves and not getting paid.

@cherokeepatti Many of those jobs through staffing/employment agencies have high turnover rates. I worked in a warehouse as a dock worker from Sept-Dec. of 2017. When I started work in September, there were 8 of us on the crew. By the time I left for another job a week before Christmas, the number had dwindled to 3 including myself 馃槀.

@SubstantialKick I retired from one job and worked at Walmart for a short time. They鈥檇 hire dozens before Thanksgiving to train them for the Christmas season and over 2/3 would quit right after Thanksgiving, they鈥檇 hire a couple dozen more, and many of those would quit before Christmas. I could not believe how how the turnover was there. I quit after 15 months and the next month came into the store and one of the workers told me that 30 cashiers quit in just one week. They spend a fortune on background checks and drug screening (and have to reject the ones that fail) and then training for the new hires takes most of a day (no work that day), plus more training on the job.

@cherokeepatti Walmart? I can't say I'm surprised lol. I almost took a job at a Walmart in 2015, and I'm glad I just stayed where I was at the time 馃槀.
I agree with that, I spent almost a year working around stupid kids. I think it should be illegal to work at all under 18. I have worked at many jobs with 16 and 17 year olds and they have all been bad employees and for some reason management never fires them, I would have.

@Girlyfriendcollecting I worked at home like I was getting paid when I was a teen, I would have loved to have gotten some money working a job back then, lived way out in the country and didn鈥檛 have a car.
