What is your 'Whew, that was close' moment?

I think it was 1989. My wife was staying late at work, some function or something. She worked in the east of the city of London. I worked at Bank. I went out for a drink (as I did every day in those days) after work. I met her about 11pm near Monument Station. We ran down the stairs to the platform there was a tube waiting. I ran to hold the doors but as they started to close I totally misjudged the distance and the gap between the train and the platform.

Both feet first I went straight down between the train and the platform. My wife screamed. A huge South African guy forced the door opened and dragged me on board. Suit ripped, cuts all over me along with goodness knows what else, it was filthy down there.

Looking back if no one had seen me and that train had moved... Well I'd have been crushed.

Bloody hell.....what a horrible thing to happen. Easily done though, those gaps are plenty big enough. @SW-User

I always presumed that was just a voice inside my head.....floating around in the gap....
