Pansexual, bisexual already had it covered.

I agree
SW-User
@MethDozer 😂 i finally understand the term.
@MethDozer Agreed. I never understood the necessity for a “new” term.
SW-User
@MethDozer I mean, it doesn't have it covered. Because bisexual implies that you're either attracted to men or women. Pansexual people are attracted to men, women, intersex people, transgender, or androgynous people.
@SW-User Doesn’t that still cover male or female ?
Straylight · 31-35, F
@MethDozer They're not exactly the same. A bisexual doesnt necessarily have an equal attraction to both men and women, they have a preference. Pan is attracted to personality types, sex and gender are whatever.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard It does, but bisexual is exclusively either male or female. It doesn't acknowledge anything outside of that, pansexuality does.
SW-User
@Straylight incorrect. i am a bisexual who is equally attracted to both sexes, thank you.
Straylight · 31-35, F
@SW-User Sure, but that doesnt mean all bisexuals are.
@SW-User There are also bisexuals who are not equally attracted, but I’d never heard the amount of attraction determining the term.
SW-User
@SW-User Bisexual people are usually attracted to one more than the other, apparently. That seems to be the norm, different levels of attraction. You just need to have some attaction to the same and opposite gender, but that doesn't mean the levels of attraction are the same. They tend to not be, from what I've read.
SW-User
@Straylight well, i’m not the one who made the definitive statement. i realize not every bisexual is exactly like me.

edit: nice that you added the word “necessarily“. now your statement is not so definitive. however, it kinda invalidates your point.
SW-User
@SW-User hmmm... “usually”. interesting.
@SW-User It seems that people really need narrow definitions and labels now, doesn’t it ? I remember when bisexual simply meant the ability to be sexually attracted to either men or women. No percentages had to be determined, nor was necessary to specify how the women or men looked, or how they dressed or their personalities, before one could be attracted to them.
Gawd, I feel old.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard neither had i.
Straylight · 31-35, F
@SW-User I meant to type "doesnt necessarily have an equil attraction". My bad. But shit, I'm not bi, tell me if I'm off.
SW-User
it’s all cool, @Straylight. i don’t think either of us meant any of our statements to be antagonistic.

take it light!
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard things do seem to be a bit muddled now, but that’s all right with me. i’m still the same. 🙂
MethDozer · M
@SW-User Same thing
MethDozer · M
@Straylight Fail to see a real distinction there.
MethDozer · M
@bijouxbroussard You're generation tried to destroy labels. New generation is all about creating as many as they can.
