Would you tell your guy friend that his zipper was down?

I once had to tell that to a man who was vice principal of a school and who was conducting a job interview...and I was the candidate for the job! He was finishing the interview, and we both stood up to end the interview. He had said he had a meeting to go to and that he was in a hurry...and I saw that his fly was open. I knew I had to tell him; I couldn't let him go to his meeting that way. So..
I told him. He thanked me saying he'd just hurried in and out if the restroom. Later, he told me my honesty and tact was part of the reason I was hired as a teacher there.

@oodlesofnoodles Thanks. I think I said, "Mr.___, this is the last thing I want to tell you...but I have to let you know that your fly is unzipped." He zipped up saying, "Oh no! THANK YOU!!! I was about to go into that meeting!!!"

The good part is that this followed an interview in which I admitted to him that I had no experience and no references, including no reference from my mentor teacher. He asked me why, and I told him that my mentor teacher and college advisor both thought I was a lousy teacher.

As I said, honesty got me the job. And I was successful there for 15 years.
