Why do womens pants have zippers?

@oodlesofnoodles Depends on the pants. Dress pants tend to be fitted.

but wouldn't that be solved with a adjustable waistband?

@oodlesofnoodles It’s solved by a zipper. Same way some skirts and dresses have zippers. It’s a quick way of getting in and out of fitted garments.
