There once was a boy named jack he got aids and died
@Firespirit Quite a sophisticated sense of humor you have. Mean-spirited, too. Are you representative of all Southerners?
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@RandomUniverse No are you representative of all white people?
@Firespirit I don't have a white person flag as my avi. You do have a confederate flag as yours. I assume you are making a statement of some kind. What is it?
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@RandomUniverse I am a history buff and the rebel flag looks cool
About as cool as a swastika in my opinion.
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@RandomUniverse The swastika is a symbol of peace and has been in Buddhism for hundred of years and many faiths. It can be seen all over temples in Asia just cause one group used it does not mean thousands of years of use are wiped out.
Yeah, right. Peace. That's what a swastika first brings to people's minds. Because the Nazis were such a peaceful group.
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@RandomUniverse Like I said just cause one group used it does not erase thousands of years of history. quite a few also died under the British flag is that also a symbol of hate?
It is a sign of colonialism. Or was. The empire sort of shrunk.
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@RandomUniverse and the rebel flag is a sign of rebellion and governing yourself. America was built on traitors and like wise the rebel flag is the embodiment of that spirit
I'm done. This is going nowhere.,
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@RandomUniverse I am merely saying one symbol can have different meaning to different people and we should not throw away a image just cause it has some bad history attached. Is that not reasonable?
@RandomUniverse He blocked me for being Iranian... Can you imagine what kind of a world it would be if we all were like him??

🤦.... lol
@Soossie I'm afraid around half of my fellow countrymen are like him. Norway, here we come.
Lol.... Packing my suitcase.... Norway it is...
@RandomUniverse And some Southerners wonder why they still have that racist reputation.
@Firespirit

As somebody who has studied and practiced Buddhist meditation for 30 years, I can confirm that. You are correct.

I can also confirm that Buddhists have dropped blazing it publicly because it reminds people of Nazis and creeps the fuck out of them.

Why? I don't know. Not rattling people's cages? Not pushing their buttons? But largely not wanting their thing associated with Nazis, even if by mistake and ignorance.
Firespirit · 26-30, M
@CopperCicada I can understand that It would kinda go against the teaching of Buddhism to be a trouble starter
@Firespirit it's not necessarily a buddhist thing to not want to be an asshole.
