Considering all the random crap it stores and hangs on to [I Get Brain Farts]

I view the brain sort of like this.

Brains don't store memory or other information like a computer or a camera does. Rather, what gets stored are the associations we have around an event, all the sensations that came into play for you at the time the memory was formed, in addition to whatever else was in your consciousness at that time — basically, just the information required for the brain to recreate a memory. And it's cyclical, so that every time you "view" a "memory," the instructions are overwritten with how you remembered it this last time.

Your memories are actually your memories of remembering your memories, or something like that.

Our brains are just big swamps of sense association that overlap and cross-contaminate each other, ultimately creating stronger and stronger neural pathways that may or may not have any actual resemblance to "objective reality," whatever that is.

So, yeah. Junk drawer of the soul.
