We don't have an equivalent of the US Year Book, but looking at some old photos of me from family snapshots one thing is obvious: the increased clarity of modern photography with its unforgiving refusal to hide imperfections does nothing to enhance my own attractiveness. Also having hair was a bonus back in the day. 😂

I would go out of my way to look as bad as possible in school photos. Always hated having my photo taken and when younger i was convinced if i tried to make them always the worse that people would stop trying to get my photo.
As a adult i have no patience for photos and my drivers licence photos alwayd come out looking like mug shots..
Neither are good or ever will be good

Yes yes and yes... did you ever self-sabotage the little captions describing ourselves and what we wanted to be when we "grew up"?

In my yearbooks I was young, and while some of the styles were horribly dated—I had time to be relaxed and smiling. At the DMV, however, my license photos only showed varying degrees of exasperation over the years.

I looked really good in my highschool photo, like a chiseled jaw. I didn't know I was so skinny haha.

Except for the flat-top haircut, I looked good in the yearbook. I cheated. I was yearbook editor, so I made sure there was a good photo of me.

@rinkydinkydoink No. Only the hoods did that. I was a jock, so it was almost shaved on the sides and back.

"Hoods" - haven't heard that term in a long, long time. In our neck of the woods they rode around on BSAs, Triumphs, the occasional Norton but mostly Harleys. And were generally harmless.

@rinkydinkydoink Our hoods couldn't afford motorcycles, but they dressed the part. They, too, were harmless.

I found an old yearbook of our high school online an hour or so ago and the girls I thought were fashion model hot all looked like nothing I remembered... and I was the dorkiest dweeb ever.
