What we’re some unique school activities that you remember from growing up?

The balancing beam lol everyone seemed to love that bloody thing, I don’t know if it was unique but it was the only activity in our playground at school. If I go back there now there’s a jungle jim and basketball courts and a load of stuff for the kids. And there we were in 1993 chuffed to chips with our balancing beam

We used to play elastics. You put a loop of haberdashers elastic around two girls' ankles and used it for skipping games 😊

We also thought we could make a person 'levitate' by squeezing all the air out of their chest . . not something to be tried at home 😬

It wasn't a school activity but we were doing this in the school yard while breaks. On strong wind days we would stay behind a wall where the wind wouldn't blow and run run run to the corner where big wind waves were crossing...that would toss our little bodies in the air slightly and we would "fly" just for a second or two then be thrown by the air to the fence of the yard 🌬️😍

Math teacher taught us about measurements by letting us mix cookies in the class room (we measured the ingredients), then she baked them in the school cafeteria oven and we got to eat them. 🍪

Dunno if its only a uk thing but that one school pe class where they bring out the massive parachute thing and play games with it. That shiz was the best thing ever.

Making slad in class. Having to bring our own ingredients from home, knives, cutting boards, etc. And we prepared everything in class. It was like in 2nd-3rd grade.
