It's easy to learn, difficult to master. I suck at chess
LostNForgotten · M
@caPnAhab same. I can be a newbie but anyone with even a little bit of talent I lose to.

Not terribly.
Pawns only move one space forward, but can go two spaces on their first move and can only take pieces diagonally
Knights move in L-shaped patterns (two spaces up, one space to either side)
Bishops move diagonally
Rooks move in straight lines
Queens move in all directions
Kings move in all directions too, but only for one space
If a pawn makes it to the other side of the board, they can recover any piece of yours that was taken. Whoever takes the other’s king wins the game (checkmate)
There’s a bit more to it than that, but that’s the gist of it.

@ExperienceDLT Sorry 🙃
ExperienceDLT · M
@Ducky its not your fault im just nit familiar with chess at all i dont know the pieces dont know the moves your allowed to make or anything its just a complete foreign game to me
LostNForgotten · M
No, but if you want to be good at it it takes a lot of practice and studying.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@LostNForgotten Right? It takes soo much practice to really get good.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
No not really, it took a few rounds for me to remember the role of each piece, but its not too bad, no!
ExperienceDLT · M
@Coralmist ive never played it at all i know nothing at all about it
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@ExperienceDLTI see a member gave a description of each piece...once you play a round or two, it is much easier.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
The rules are fairly easy, being good at the game is not, in my opinion.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
It's not hard to learn how to play. Improvement takes practice. Experience is needed to get good at it. Play as much as you can and don't get discouraged by losing. Everyone loses at first.
Repete · 61-69, M
Learning the moves is easy , learning how to make and use strategies is much harder. It’s a fun game if it’s only a game. I love playing but I suck at planning ahead more than 2 moves .
Renkon · 36-40, M
Depends on whether you life such tactical games. I love chess. But to play a bit higher level, you need to learn a lot. But for fun, not much.
