Not terribly.
Pawns only move one space forward, but can go two spaces on their first move and can only take pieces diagonally
Knights move in L-shaped patterns (two spaces up, one space to either side)
Bishops move diagonally
Rooks move in straight lines
Queens move in all directions
Kings move in all directions too, but only for one space
If a pawn makes it to the other side of the board, they can recover any piece of yours that was taken. Whoever takes the other’s king wins the game (checkmate)
There’s a bit more to it than that, but that’s the gist of it.

@Ducky its not your fault im just nit familiar with chess at all i dont know the pieces dont know the moves your allowed to make or anything its just a complete foreign game to me
