I feel alone in college.

I just moved out of my parent's house to a dorm at my college. I've never felt more lonely to be honest. I'm happy to get away from home since it was an abusive environment, it just takes some getting used to. I just need something to look forward to. Like meeting your best friends or even the love of your life at college. Your input is very appreciated and will help me stay on this planet a little longer 🙂

I would recommend reading...

"How to win friends and influence people." by Dale Carnegie. It's a fantadtic book about to how interact with others in a positive way and avoid some blunders.

Coming from an abusive household it becomes very difficult sometimes to figure out the basics of communication, and if you do know, even then its great to have some nice guiding principles. It really helps in difficult situations which are inevitable for all.

I read it during my final year and it's one of my strongest skills I use every day dealing with people. Good luck and its nice to be free.

Yes look forward to things.. live long and prosper .. and stay away from the political left psychos
@GoFish hate to break it to you but i lean left. just because someone has a different political opinion than you doesn’t mean you should call them psychos. i hope this helps ❤‍🩹

I remember feeling that same loneliness when I got to college. Get involved. It is a new start for you, and it's a great chance to form new, better relationships.

Don’t go looking for the love of your life. You are liable to find the wrong person. Wait till the love of your life turns up.
@MoSmith Nobody just "turns up". You have to actively apply. It's 2026, not 1953.

@Magicianzini ok then find the wrong person
@MoSmith No, just the right person. But you'll find NO ONE if you sit around waiting for someone to just come to you.
Join clubs - get involved. It's hard at first because you're in this really new environment but getting yourself out there exposes you to all types of new people. Not everybody vibes with everybody but that's how you meet your others.

Give it time.

New place. New surroundings. New people. New experiences. New routines.

When things settle you'll see the directions you want to go in.
