There is ONE student loan that will never be forgiven...by ME. My former daughter-in-law SCAMMED my elderly mother, (who was borderline demented at the time), into co-signing her Fannie Mae. THEN she defaulted on the loan.
When I became executor of the estate, I dragged my mother to a lawyer to make him talk some sense into her...because she planned to REFUSE to pay. (Because my former daughter-in-law cheated on my son and got pregnant with someone else's baby before leaving him).
The lawyer had to explain to her that no matter WHAT my former daughter-in-law had done, my mother was still RESPONSIBLE for the loan.
We paid $1000.00 a month on that loan...every single month until my mother died. Apparently death is one reason that debt collectors forgive debt.
I hope my former daughter-in-law NEVER forgets her horrible scam...and her dishonesty.
