If you had to assign an actual percentage to how much America is a patriarchy, which integer would you assign?

91% based on.... I have rounded down to nearest whole number.

As of 2023, 41 women lead S&P 500 companies, which is 8.2% of all CEO positions:

Men still dominate the highest ranks of CEO pay, with the top 20 highest-paid CEOs being men.

In 2019, there were more men named James at the helm of S&P 500 companies than the total of women.

Never had a female president - despite being up against Donald Trump, Slow Joe etc

I'm going with probably 70%. Yes women are making huge strides but head decisions are still made primarily by men, the work force is run primarily by men, sports and entertainment are run primarily by men .😦hmmm ..id wager that's roughly 70%

@foldedunfolding Right ..some women really contribute to it. And are seemingly promoting these patriarchal roles too. But, I was just reading a book on self help and it talked a lot about how this country is steeped in it, but that MEN can also be affected by this. It is a very wide topic but truly needs to be addressed more and more because men lose out due to it as well. (Feeling inadequate, feeling not able to be authentic..etc)

@Coralmist if you pay attention..men posture more for other men, even the straight ones, than they do for women. it's like they have been so rejected, so many times, that they give up. at the same time, like, STOP PUTTING YOURSELF IN A POSITION TO BE REJECTED by trying to grind our lack of consent to a nubbin! the amount of times i get, "wyd/wya/can i come over/let me see it"...they truly think my lack of consent is a SUGGESTION.

On a 1 - 10 scale, probably a 5 but it's going to be at least a 7 in a few years.

The wealth gap is astounding.

@fun4us2b oo this is an intriguing response from a man!! expound upon the theme?

@foldedunfolding Well - using the 1 percenters as a first pass - In 2023, 13% of the world's billionaires were women, or 431 out of 3,323

The trend likely continues all the way down the chain...I never did research but it took 2 seconds to find that above snippet. I bet if we keep looking we'll find that the numbers are pretty shocking.
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@fun4us2b oh for sure..and that is just the wealth gap..when i think of patriarchy, wealth isnt even the firsr place my mind goes!!
55% just a blue guess based on presidential voting 😅

@BohemianBabe exactly..just so hateful to denigrate men for their trauma. someone asked me the other day how i "managed" to be sexually assaulted 3x, that it was my fault..then another dude asked me which of the 3 was my favorite, and said they would need a forklift to even assault me. so much hatred in this world.
