When you walk in the wrong lecture hall

I did that once in Uni and discovered the first Avcon (Anime, video game convention). Only a handful of people showed up. That was over 20 years ago. The most recent one was a few months ago. And over 10 thousand people showed up.

I've done it once.

I'd arrived a few minutes late so crept in, sat down and soon noticed that the subject was Geology but not quite the topic advertised.

"Ah", I thought, "Perhaps the original speaker was unable to appear and they've had to make a last-minute substitution".

Then the talk and photographs drifted away to more scenic - to general geography, really.

Still, I did enjoy this unexpected tour of Patagonia.

Yes - I'd mis-read my calendar. The Geology lecture was actually a week later!
