This is probably a really dumb question about evolution (and forgive me if it is) but

How come some animals haven't evolved since dinosaur times?

Like crocodiles and horseshoe crabs? (I think) ?

They've already found a successful basic design. New species of this design arise(evolution) as others become extinct, but they never had a reason to become radically different. The species of crocodilians today didn't exist during dinosaur times
