Considering a second degree?

I've read a book called the alchemist by Paulo Coelho where he talked about something called personal legend, in other words it's the spark/feeling you get about something as if it's calling you, or as if it's your purpose.
it can be a place to travel to, a job to work, etc.
my case is that after i finished my degree in MIS (Which i truly love and respect) I discovered that I want to work in the field of teaching Literature.. annotation, poetry , etc.. which is too far from my education but too into my real hobbies and personality.
I was afraid to choose English as a major from the first place because i was worried that i won't get a proper job fast.
getting another degree requires a huge deal of money and time that i should start plan to save.
so if you were in my place would you follow your passion or continue on doing something you like but doesn't make you feel like this is you?

If you hated the industry you already have a degree for ,then I’d say go back to school ASAP. In most cases, it only be two more years for you to get another masters degree. Most programs don’t really care what your bachelors is in as long as your application is solid.

Since you actually genuinely like MIS though.. I don’t know. It might be better to work with what you have, and do the degree later. In the meantime, I would look into volunteer opportunities akin to teaching. Maybe connect with your local community college of sorts to see if they’ll let you shadow or be a TA?

Hopefully you will have enough time in your working life to pursue and develop your interest in literature. Then perhaps you can have a second career later.

I have a passion for teaching, but I sadly cannot fulfil my other objectives on a teacher's wage. I will continue with my job until the mortgage is paid and my family is financially comfortable, then I will get my qualification and teach maths in schools.

@SunshineGirl Thank You for replying! much appreciated.
I'd also recommend you platforms like skill share or even youtube.
It will never be like teaching in a class/school but still it allows many people to see your teaching!.

I tend to follow my intuition and many times they turned out well for me.
Something feels like calling you and you feel somehow attached to it rather strongly then it is worth chasing that dream in my case.
Everyone is different and certainly I can't suggest the right idea but having a second degree could be beneficial in long term, I guess.

My passion was photography. In a field like photography, when you don't want to be a freelance photographer, a wedding photographer, commercial, you learn you are taking this program for love.

At your age, I'd recommend not listening too deeply to spiritual learnings from pop writers, such as Paul Coelho. He may talk of that spark/feeling, and he surely will have it when his books sell, but that's my point. Take what time you have in school, learn, listen and be an open student.

I'm happy I quit photography when I did, but that was life coming my way, and I'm completely fine working in a printing press now.
