You turn up to PE without pumps or plimsolls, what happens?

When I was at school, we got the slipper across our arses if we forgot our PE kit.

Do it bare foot, that said it was compulsory bare foot anyway at secondary.

I was trying to think what might have happened at my school, some sixty years ago, but I honestly don't recall anyone ever doing so.

I think if for Games, outdoors on the playing-field in Summer, you might be told to go litter-picking, though in those days people generally had more respect for place and self so there would not be much to pick up. I dimly recall one boy sent on such a chore but I do not know why.

Do p e in bare feet. That said, several schools encourage indoor p e to be done without plimsolls anyway.
