You turn up to PE without pumps or plimsolls, what happens?

@Lynda70 [@sharon} i remember girls that turned up without PE kit at my primary school being asked what colour knickers they had on by the female teacher and if they said navy blue were told to PE in their knickers and bare foot

@gandalf1957 I did PE in underwear and bare feet when I had no kit. Can't remember what colour my knickers were.

@GentleLucille We did in primary school, not in secondary.

@Sharon Same here. We just took off our shoes and socks and helped out with refereeing or did homework in the gym.

@gandalf1957 No, we got the slipper in primary and secondary school.

@Sharon primary school slipper and then do the lesson still in underwear - that was a bit tough!

@gandalf1957 Yes, but we didn't get as many whacks in primary school.

@Sharon hate to think what happened if you forgot your cross country kit in secondary school then :-)

@gandalf1957 We did yoga or dance indoors if we forgot clothes for cross country. Quite a popular option, unsurprisingly 🙂

@gandalf1957 The gym mistress slippered harder than any of the male teachers though.

@gandalf1957 but then ladies spank harder in my experience particularly spinster 1960s / 70s teachers

@gandalf1957 Yes, that was my experience too. It wasn't that male teachers went easier on girls either, the boys agreed that female teachers slippered harder.

@Sharon lady teachers knew that they could slipper and cane girls hard and did the same for boys!
