How do you work this out?

The amount of hay in a barn will feed 40 cows for 12 weeks.

For how many weeks could you feed 15 cows with the same amount of hay?

40/15x12=?

I sell the cows to an abattoir and spend the night eating pizza and banging hookers Problem solved.

Let's see x=40*12 x=y*15 y=x/15 馃槥 no idea, sorry. I tried..something

@Gentlemickey 40 divided by 15 =2 2/3 ...2 2/3 times 12= 32 weeks
It's simple..

(40*12)/15

32
@SW-User total hay is constant ..

Which means number of cows 脳 number of weeks is constant

@marcusaurelius I mean the answer is 32 lol. Sorry for the wrong answer and thank you for explaining it to me.

@marcusaurelius oh, I get it, you divided the whole hey by 15 cows. Sorry for dumb Q, Im not good at math

(40*12)/15

If each cow eats 1 hay unit/week, you have 40*12=480 hay units. So if you divide split those 480 hay units between 15 cows. (480/15) you get the answer.
