I'm always on the lookout for a good laugh which usually means a poorly-made drama.
Have you ever seen Bride of the Gorilla starring Raymond "Perry Mason" Burr and Lon Chaney Jr?

🤣

@ChipmunkErnie MOTWM is the better 'chiller' and I love Glenda Ferrell as the tough female reporter.

@JSul3 Kind of like her role as Torchie Blane.
@JSul3

A real cutie, Ms Ferrell :D

Una Merkel, too.

There's a fine line between "bad" and "so bad that it is hilariously good!"

One of my favorites in the latter category is an old horror film called "The Creeping Terror." It is much worse (better?) than Plan Nine From Outer Space.
@DrWatson that guy who stars in The Creeping Terror also produced the film. He took a lot of money from investors, made that $3.95 monster movie, and then disappeared with the rest of the money. It turns out he used a fake name. He has never been seen or heard from again.

Ironically he inadvertently made a cult classic.

@robingoodfellow Wow. And was he the one who made the post-production decision to cover up so much of the actors' dialog (which was probably terrible) with the voice of a narrator?

That was one of the most hilarious aspects of the film for me.
@DrWatson " The monster then proceeded to lover's lane...."
Priceless.

I remember quite a few Siskel & Ebert "Thumbs Down" movies that I enjoyed.
@bowman81 I did, too. But these were really the worst. Many I hadn’t been familiar with, but Ed Wood was over represented on the list. A few 70s "blaxploitation" films made the cut, as well.

I love shows like that! :P
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
I mean, film critics hating something used to be a pretty decent sign I might like it so I might be with you on this one
@ViciDraco These were all genuinely "bad" movies; the ones directed by Ed Wood, cheap horror movies, some of of the "blaxploitation" pictures, bad martial arts flics ("Black Belt Jones",a combination of the latter)

The English Patient (remember Elaine on Seinfeld?) 🤓
@tindrummer Which one, Troll ?
tindrummer · M
@bijouxbroussard Sorry, English Patient
@tindrummer Ah, yes. That didn’t make the list on the documentary. They pulled the worst of the worst ("Santa Claus Conquers The Martians")

@Madmonk I often do, too. But even I had to admit that many of these were really awful.
