Ultimately the American electorate is the only body with the authority and right to decide which Party will be in the majority in the American government, and the Party is the one to decide its leader.
In between elections the nation has Congress to hold the President and government to account, and the judiciary to examine their legal and constitutional probity.
If both of the those routes fail the nation risks going the way of Turkey and Hungary.

I really don’t think you can erase the stench of Musk and Trump. Because it would be like trying to get rid of dog poo stench in shag carpet. Musk and Trump stench also probably seeped into all the wood work in the WH – so they might have to build a fresh new one after Trump is out of office, Cheers!
