What are your pet peeves? 👀

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people tell me stuff I already know 😶
Maybe I'm a "know-it-all" or something 😂 because I'll get sarcastic asf like, "oh hey did you also know that the big yellow one is the sun?"

I don't mean to 😭 I think my brain is kinda like "I'm not stupid 😠" & I get defensive lol.
Oh & I HATE repeating myself. Most of the time I just say nevermind because I'd rather drop it than sound like an idiot saying the same shit over & over.

Hmm... now that I write this, maybe my biggest pet peeve is looking stupid 💀

People who lack manners or are nasty to others for no reason. Also being patronised because of my age

@LvChris silly me 🙄

@SW-User
being patronised because of my age
Oh gyod yes, that does happen.
The good thing though is the older we get, the less that happens. It even gets to the point when we can start using our age as an excuse for things. Yet at the same time, people actually start to show a little respect when we get older.
People who say rude or mean things and then say "I'm just kidding." or "It was just a joke."
@CallmeHopelessNotRomantic fr 🤣 I be real asf with people so I'm like, "nah you ain't even joking" & they're usually like "yeeeaaah you right" 💀

Jesus Christ don't get me started. Though it is mildly annoying when people say stuff that we already know but it doesn't bother me too bad because I figure whatever there's a lot of dummies out there that do need to hear things that are obvious.

When I have to repeat stuff I either just don't even bother or move on to the next statement. I figure if they are not listening the first time then their attention span will not allow them to notice that I didn't bother to repeat.

One of my pet peeves lately is that I work with this guy who is usually cool but he has a martyr complex big time. It's like everything that goes wrong he thinks that the world is going to hold him accountable.
@CestManan yeah I usually just forget it & move on too 😅 some people get mad but I'm like "well you should've paid attention 🤷"

The martyr complex is kinda frustrating too though. I guess I've kinda had one at times but usually with other people I'm just thinking, "it's no big deal dude chill" 😂

I wrote a post asking about pet peeves on here a while ago. I didn’t think I had that many, but I agreed with almost every one that replied. 😶
I agree with yours, too.

The biggest ones for me that come to mind are loud eaters and people who don’t clean up their own messes. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Condescension is a pretty big one, too, but I don’t think anyone really likes that.
@QueenOfTheNerds yeah it feels like a while since I've seen a pet peeve post 😅 they're always pretty relatable which makes it kinda fun when we can all hate something together 🤣
Loud eaters aren't the best but tolerable for me.. cleaning up their own messes is a big one though. My gf thinks I'm OCD because I HAVE to wash dishes or throw trash out IMMEDIATELY 😂 but my thinking is, "the sooner you do it, that's less you gotta think about later" 🤷

Btw I thought you said "condensation" at the end & I was thinking, "damn she must hate the mirror after a hot shower" 💀
QueenOfTheNerds · 41-45, F
@ChiefWalksWith40oz I think the cleaning up after yourself thing bothers me because it’s essentially saying that it’s not worth their time, so they leave it for someone else (me) to do.
Condensation in general doesn’t bug me unless it’s on the inside of the windshield when I’m trying to drive. Lol.
@QueenOfTheNerds that's understandable 😅 for me I think it just bothers me because I grew up knowing to clean up after ourselves. I was making my own food, doing my own laundry, doing all my chores when I was 6 lol. So when people can't clean up after themselves I'm like "what're you a toddler?" 😂

What you be doing to het condensation inside your car though? 👀 That mostly only happens from car sex in my experience 🤣

I'm down with that, sweetie. I'm fairly knowledgeable on a lot of different subjects and I don't like people talking down to me as if I'm thick....

Working in I.T I sometimes have to wait (Hmmmmm...patiently?!? Maybe) in the background until I can clamber over people to get to their computer. Some of these guys (it's usually guys...sorry!) have that look on their faces that (obviously!) I'm the receptionist...here to pick up a piece of paper and take it away (sorry for all the receptionists out there, sweeties...you're doing a sterling job!) and get blown away that I am the tech person.

Gwrrrrhhhhhhhh!!!!!

People that don't get the whole gay vs transsexual thing get me frustrated too.

Being late...or people being late...that is a biggie. I always have to be on time...and so should you!

Noisy eaters! Hate them! Likewise people that take longer than, like, 7 minutes to peruse the menu on what to eat (I mentally countdown...) and order.

People in waiting rooms.....errrhhhh...let's just say waiting rooms in general..

Toilet seats being left up...toothpaste being squeezed from the middle....not cleaning the shower after use...

Geez, I'm a neurotic mess!

😘
People peeling out to get in front of me than driving 10 mph
@Pinkstarburst that's infuriating 😤 I purposely come close to hitting them just to scare em a bit & make them hopefully think twice about doing it next time

Mine is probably being measured by someone else’s standards. Value whatever you want, but do not assume I’ll appreciate the same things.
Reject · 26-30, M
@ChiefWalksWith40oz Yes, and it’s that thinking which led to one of the worst sayings I’ve ever heard which is “treat others how you want to be treated”.
@Reject haha yeah not everyone wants to be treated the same... We all have different understandings of things which can make certain reactions feel different than what we'd normally expect. I can see how that leads to misunderstandings or disagreements often
Reject · 26-30, M
@ChiefWalksWith40oz It happens far too often. People can’t keep an open mind, because they’re always biased to their own experiences.
caPnAhab · 26-30, M
Those fake sounding text to speech generated narrations. In like videos and stuff. I know it's just a minor thing but it really gets on my nerves.

How do you like people repeating things to you you I already know? man that bugs me
@caPnAhab honestly those voices do sound so monotonous & makes the subject matter seem so bland 😶 even if it's an interesting topic. Makes it a bit harder to pay attention imo.

But maaan people repeating shit I already know just pisses me off 😂 I'll literally walk away
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Agreed with what you wrote about repeating stuff. I wanted to add that my biggest pet peeve is when you know something to be true for just yourself and you get gaslighted that the other person knows better. But not only do they gaslight you but they'll be rude about it too. Or they'll start out fake nice but it's only to control your behavior because they think they know when they don't.

It's not that I don't think others have points, I will sometimes agree with them but at the same time when it comes to what works for me personally and I have someone coming in to try to have some authority over me, that annoys me easy.
SW-User
Slooooow people… walking slow, driving slow, talking slow, writing slow… omg😩😩😩
@SW-User frustrating asf 😂 I don't really get mad at them but I do be thinking, "fuuuuuck, come on already"
Same! It’s like don’t waste my precious brain space with something I already know!!
@Notladylike right 😂😂 I'm like "skip the obvious part & get on to the point dammit"
Rolexeo · 26-30, M
Passive-aggressiveness, either say what you want to say or keep it to yourself. And then when called out on it they deny how they were acting.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Lazy people, people who interrupt, and people who try to talk over everyone else.

iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I can’t stand people that aren’t aware of themselves in public. Like people in grocery stores that stand in the middle of isles with their carts like no one else is in the store.
@iamonfire696 lmao that suddenly reminded me pushing friends down hills in shopping carts 😂 good times

Lets go in the store & start a cart crash derby 🙃
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@ChiefWalksWith40oz I am down for a cart crash derby 🤣. Especially if it involves those people who think the grocery store is their personal store 🤭.

Oh goodness, how didn’t you break a bone then? We’re you ever in the cart going down the hill lol
CestManan · 46-50, F
@iamonfire696 Oh I know all about shopping cart rage.
But there is a silver lining....
Let me give you a shopping tip, this really works.

When you are looking for a particular item in the store and have an idea of where it is but not exactly, the person standing in the way is hiding the item.

No really. Next time you cannot find something and some idiot is standing against the aisle, when they finish obstructing the way, THERE will be the item you want.

Try it next time you are shopping and then come back and say, "Leggs, you were right!" :D

This cartoon is almost 75 years old, nothing has really changed except the pedestrian now buries his nose in a phone instead of a paper.
