My ex was sexually abused by her brother from age 6 to when she was 12 when he was drafted. She buried it in her mind but it came out whem our son was born. She became psychotic and was put on meds. Psychologists told us there was a high probability that she would abuse him. She left and I became a single parent. He's 33 now and they do have contact again. She's much better but cannot have stable relationships.

I don't know. I've seen people deal with trauma all kinds of ways.
Some people it makes them overly nice, some selfish, some combative, uncaring, impoverished, unable to work with people...
What I went through led me to self harm for almost 30 years.

I agree I think it's too easy for them to attempt to justify committing their crimes on something that was out of their control, clearly we contradict that and it ultimately shows that autonomy is drives them to do it. Of course there are those that don't have particularly bad childhoods/experienced any trauma at all and still go on to commit heinous crimes - I find them somewhat more evil.
