Also you have an option of blocking people whose posts you don’t like …

It takes a while to truly get the lay of the land, and you have to take some responsibility yourself. Set you filters, whether you program the ones available or just be selective as to which posts or messages you respond to. I know a lot of people advise blocking those who annoy, but I personally feel that only gives them the attention they are seeking and while blocking them can put a target on yourself for those of the same ilk. I have found it better to just ignore, or -- on the non-sexual issues -- state if they are going to label and name call I assume they have nothing left for a constructive conversation and then ignore, if they persist. The bullies and perverts lose attention fast if they don't get the attention they crave.

It's a strange place for sure, but there are some good people here... kind, understanding, empathetic people, but it takes a moment to sort through the chaff and find those few you can talk to/click with.

Block, block, block... that's the key. If you don't use the block feature liberally, it's easy to be overcome with the jerks and pervs.

Block the perverts and grubs. Not everyone here falls into those categories. Spell out what it is you are seeking here and perhaps you will get some meaningful responses.

There is a majority of sensible people here who treat people with respect, sensitivity and kindness.

You seem to have experienced the other sort. I am sorry that you have.
