US battles major measles outbreak

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41JabapebNo]

South Carolina's Spartanburg County has become the epicenter of the largest measles outbreak in more than 30 years. Some doctors fear that outbreaks like this one are becoming the new normal.

There's always some ailment that they want to scare us with. Just the medical field trying to make more money.

Of course we all have diabetes, COPD, and autism by default, but apparently that isn't enough.

They mention covid in the video and how it jaded people's views on vaccines. Well yeah because there were too many conflicting reports during the pandemic.

Now that they have run covid scares into the ground, they are going to drudge up other ailments to try to scare the public.

@SunshineGirl Some people are ignorant by choice. @HoeBag
@MoveAlong …and others have it crammed down their throats (the least of the MAGAts!)

hey also, around the 5:30 mark, what state is showing up? There is a specific reason I ask that.
I am curious why this video is about South Carolina yet at that moment, is it showing a different state and some guy talking.
If need be, I can explain in a PM.
@HoeBag At 05:25 RFK, Jr is giving a speech in Indiana. I don’t recognize the two guys; one on either side of him at the podium.
Spartanburg is where all of the immigrants are processed for/in SC..
@Magicianzini South Carolina is among the states with the lowest immunization rates. Also the worst tracking of vaccinations among school age children. I don’t know off hand how much different that rate is for immigrants vs non-immigrants.
@KunsanVeteran It's much, much higher. Most are not immunized at all... zero, nada, zilch. Also, statewide, the Greenville/Spartanburg area is better than the rest of the state except for Charleston and Columbia.

don't we have vaccines for that?
@Pretzel Yeah, I wasn’t going to get into polio but since you have brought it up…

Another absolutely horrible policy decision by RFK, Jr was to defund all federal support of waste water (and other aspects of) screening for viruses.

Waste water surveillance is an important tool to detect viral pathogens in our cities and towns before they begin to show up at ERs, doctors’ offices, urgent cares, etc.

Cases of polio have started occurring after years of this scourge being a thing of the past.

Senator McConnell is an example of someone who survived polio. If anyone doubts the value of vaccines, have them talk to Mitch…

BTW, I happen to abhor the man, but on this issue we agree!
