Just a little crazy

Our 15yo daughter asked me how I wound up with tinnitus. I Told her how I got wrecked at a music festival in '85, when David Lee Roth came on the crowd became tightly packed. Looking for a place near the stage with more breathing room, I wound up way too close to a speaker stack. About 2 days later, the ringing in my ears turned into this insect buzzing I've been hearing 24/7 since.
She axked if that's why I seem a little crazy at times. Well, that's one reason. We also have 3 kids and 4 four-legged kids, our dogs, running around.

I blame my poor hearing on my teen years, working summers at a sawmill, only feet away from a 60 inch circular saw and a 16 cylinder Detroit diesel engine. And then there were the years in a textile mill in a room with a hundred noisy looms. (My wife counters with the argument that most of my deafness is due to a lack of attention to her talking.)
