My parents told me I sleepwalked two or three times as a child. They didn't wake me up, but just watched me go back to bed after I wandered around a bit.
One of those times, I woke up spontaneously and found myself in the kitchen. I wasn't startled, but wondered why I went there; I wasn't hungry.
@Thinkerbell I sleepwalked in front of my gran outside the house. It really panicked her. Otherwise, perhaps it's just a mix of being too tired and a definite need to get ones brain sorted out. Something like an inbuilt thing for the brain to get the body in the right spot. Blocked, you think?
@Thinkerbell I also had somnambulism when I was a kid. While growing up in a rural town they told me one night I sleepwalked from my aunt's house to my grandmother's house four houses down in the dead of night. Also walked to the kitchen as well middle of the night as I grew older. Exes also told me I talk in my sleep. I don't know if I still do it but I hear you eventually grow out of it.
@Thinkerbell You're right. Sorry, I need to rant... There's Promising Young Woman (2020) on the television right now. Someone thought to watch that. How I hate the movie. Even if the director was a woman and the subject matter should be dealt with at some level, on another level I don't like to think of it at all. Yes, I'm a coward but I had truly enough misery myself. I wish that I was with my gran instead but I'm not. Perhaps I'm indeed now just sleepwalking my days
@Thinkerbell It cheers me up no end to see that there's yet another person who has already blocked me to be found in this sequence of replies on replies too 🥳
