I Have Sleep Apnea

Diagnosed In 2008... I sleep with a CPAP, and probably always will.  I hate it because it feels like I am attached to a dork machine,  but I realize it is a medical device that I need to keep me breathing when I sleep.  I have thought about having surgery, but I have heard the results are haphazard and sometimes the surgery makes the OSA worse.  So I will continue with my little pump and thank God for insurance to pay for  it and the supplies.

I know how you feel. As far as surgey goes I had a uvala trim in the early 90's. I went from severe OSA to mild. So it helped. My CPAP pressure is 6 which is low. A friend of mine had the same procedure and he was cured since he was not severe to start with. If you consider this surgery please locate a good surgeon since it is a risky venture. Trim to much and you could have additional swallowing problems, trim to litle and it does not help. Also it does really hurt for about 2 weeks. It simply is a benefit versus risk equation. Good luck!
