Here we go again.

Mum in law is back in hospital. Shes been in a week having some tests and obs and its been decided to amutate her other leg. The other was removed in September as a result of circulation issues. In our opinion the care she has received since has not been great. We have voiced concerns constantly, but things were at best, followed up at snails pace and often, not acted on at all.
About 2 months ago, one of the carers managed to tip her off the equipment they used to move her from room to room resulting in the equipment being removed and mum being bedbound for 6 weeks while alternative equipment was found and fitted. During that time, sat in her bed the knee on her good leg has fused itself bent and she can no longer straighten it. This has resulted in muns leg now being more of a hinderence than a help, so they are going to operate next week.
Mums current care plan can not be put on hold, so will be cancelled, meaning a new one will have to be put in place before she could return home. She will probably be in a number if weeks though, so no need to worry about that yet.
Its deja vu for sure.....

So sorry.

I know a little about atrophy. I was in the hospital a few weeks, bedbound for most of it. I had to use a walker to get up (after my surgeries were done), and kept using it for two months. I still am wobbly and weak at times.

Diabetes has also numbed my toes. I hope I do not lose any someday. It has also effected my eyes. I get monthly injections to treat it. I just got some an hour ago.

@JoyfulSilence 🤗🤗🤗
I am sorry for how neglectful the healthcare she has received has been. Its distressing to experience that and witness that as a loved one. I really hope things improve and wish you the strength to continue to advocate for her. 🫂

Oh no, I hope her surgery goes better than her care. This is awful. I wish her and yourself lots of strength & patience to get through this mess. Well wishes on this surgery too. So sorry anyone has to endure such treatment and the trauma that's to follow as a result.😞

Hugs..

Oh Ruby...how dreadful. It's a long, slow process dying of diabetes...and that, combined with dementia? And your horrid NHS over there? That's the stuff of nightmares. I am SO sorry for what you will have to endure.

If you don't mind, I am going to pray...for YOU...so that God will give your MIL a quick and merciful death. That IS God's ultimate mercy.
