These things are supposed to be amazing… a valve prevents the kids snot from getting sucked in mama’s mouth.
I just don’t think I could get over the idea enough to use one.

@QueenOfTheNerds the reviews seemed good but I gagged at the thought

a snot siphon?
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
That's got to be against some law.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
It works… I didn’t use them bc it freaks me out. I know numerous mothers who do though. There is a thing that keeps it from going up you your mouth. It works better than the little bulb suction things according to my sister in law
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Isn't that nasty? I remember coming across these when my kid was a baby. How could this not spread viruses!?! Grooossssss.
itsok · 31-35, F
@Starcrossed I was wondering that too! It said it had filters buuuut 😐 why not use a normal one? I don’t get it
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@Starcrossed No. It was developed by DOCTORS. I dont know which doctors. 🤪
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
My wife had to use something similar on our daughter when she randomly found a bb and put it in her nose :/
itsok · 31-35, F
@Turtlepower did she use just a normal aspirator or she used the mouth suction one? Was she able to get the bb out?
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
itsok · 31-35, F
@Turtlepower definitely

They make a bulb to suck the snot out of a baby's nose, just squeeze and release...no snot straw!

Orifice placement needs to be carefully thought out and not done in the dark..

itsok · 31-35, F
@pancakeslam will it work if I get really congested?
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@itsok you want my help with that? I think I'm allergic to boogers though.
itsok · 31-35, F
@pancakeslam we’ll find out
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Did you get saline to put in your doggy’s nose to use the bulb snot sucker? That’s how you get out the boogers the best.

@iamonfire696 I have bottles of saline for her that I use in her nebulizer, but I’ve never tried using it for her nose. She has an excess of thick mucus. How do you use the saline? You spray a bit up there? Do you use the aspirator to drop it in? I may need to ask my vet.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@itsok I would ask the vet but for babies I would drop some saline in their nose to get everything out because it loosens it up.
