24 hour flu or 9 month flu?

@sree251 Yes it is part of Jesus' history. It is not part of my history. I'm not God. He is.

@hippyjoe1955 It's a matter of faith, hippy. Faith and compassion. You don't have to be God, just Christlike.
What do you say?

@sree251 I have been a Christian for over 40 years and a pastor for over 35 years. I have seen all kinds of illnesses that were never healed. It was simply God's timing to take them home. Likewise with non fatal illnesses. They can be cured in an instant of the person can recover 'naturally'. Both are God's providence.

Jesus' appeal was that he lived among us, as one of us. Wouldn't that inspire us to live the way he lived?

@sree251 Of course except we don't have that power. Try as I might I can not open the eyes of the blind like He did. I certainly can't raise the dead either nor can I heal withered hands.

@sree251 Compassion has nothing to do with the power to heal illness. It is a Gift from God that I simply don't have. I have many others but healing is not one of them - yet.

Is it not the concern for our sufferings and misfortunes that compelled Jesus to be with us as one of us to endure the pain we go thru?
I can't relate with God. I can relate with Jesus. Is it the power of compassion that transformed God to be one with man?

@sree251 My point being I can be as compassionate as I can possibly be but still not be able to heal anyone. That gift it the purview of God not man.

The power of compassion is itself the gift of healing. Where there is a distinction between the healer and the sick, there is division. No love.
