Jesus' appeal was that he lived among us, as one of us. Wouldn't that inspire us to live the way he lived?

The Jesus character was a self-described homeless wino and glutton who was always free-loading off of his rich buddies. One of his favorite pasttimes was dousing himself in expensive perfume. Why do you consider that to be a good role model?

I can support all of my comments by direct quotes from the fairytale.

Cite me one direct quote from any one of the four gospels that chronicles the ministry of Jesus, and give your commentary on it.

Matthew 15:24 (ERV) = Jesus answered, “God sent me only to the lost people of Israel.”

Matthew 10:5-6 (ERV) = "5 Jesus sent the twelve men out with these instructions: “Don’t go to the non-Jewish people. And don’t go into any town where the Samaritans live. 6 But go to the people of Israel. They are like sheep that are lost."

The Jesus character didn't give a damn about non-Jews so why a non-Jew give a damn about his ethnocentric ass?

24 hour flu or 9 month flu?

Compassion has nothing to do with the power to heal illness.

Is it not the concern for our sufferings and misfortunes that compelled Jesus to be with us as one of us to endure the pain we go thru?

It is a Gift from God that I simply don't have. I have many others but healing is not one of them - yet.

I can't relate with God. I can relate with Jesus. Is it the power of compassion that transformed God to be one with man?

@sree251 My point being I can be as compassionate as I can possibly be but still not be able to heal anyone. That gift it the purview of God not man.

The power of compassion is itself the gift of healing. Where there is a distinction between the healer and the sick, there is division. No love.
