You know Covid caused mental trauma to healthcare workers when your co-workers are afraid of Covid getting worse again

I doubt Covid will get back to how it was in 2020 but listening to their stories of wearing N95 masks for 12 hours and dealing with dying patients daily is something.

Those stories are sad. Especially when they were undersupplied and the authorities were telling them it wasn't as bad as it was and forced them to work overtime.

They gave us 12 hour shifts. Offered to raise our pay by an extra $10 an hour.

Those N95 masks and PPE all had to be changed every time you tended a patient. Hands had to be washed 3 times just putting the gear on and 3 times taking it off.

Dementia patients were scared by the PPE and would lash out violently. And we would get beat up constantly.

2 wards were in lock down together. 24 patients. 1 Carer.

When it was known that Covid was in the building more people wouldn't show up. So we had to make do working half staff or less. 120 patients. 2 carers.

Inflation has gone up consistently and most Job sectors get a pay increase along with it. Carers and nurses haven't had a pay increase in 10 years..
Last year the Government agreed with he Unions to increase the pay by 25% to get it to were it should be plus $10 extra an hour. But said they'll only give 15% with the rest to be given at further date. Thus far they haven't made good on any of it.
They have also said the $20 million we need to upgrade the hospitals and ambulance is not in the budget. Meanwhile they spent 364 Billion on Submarines we can't use...
