Is losing sense of smell part of covid 19?

Now I know sometimes when you have a bad cold you can’t really smell, but now as I am eating, I have a different smell. Like I’m losing my sense of smell. It’s like a stale bad smell but not really bad. I can’t smell the food regularly if that makes sense. I’m trying to describe it as much as I can. I can still taste which is good.
I am still congested, have a runny nose but I am feeling a bit better. Don’t have a fever which is good. I got tested positive for covid Saturday night so I’m staying home from work for a couple days.
Also I now have diarrhea. Is it normal for the symptoms to come a couple days later?

My mother lost her sense of smell back in the summer of 2019 after having sustained a brain injury due to a fall from a flight of stairs.
@Sidewinder Oh no. That’s horrible. Sorry to hear that

@CraftyMarieArts And yet, as horrible as it is, it goes to show that a virus isn't the only thing that can rob one of their sense of smell.
@Sidewinder yeah. Also the reasons why I’m not going to work with a week because I don’t want to give it to anyone else
