Looked this up on Google but there doesn't seem to be a definite answer. I was exposed to Covid last Friday.

How many days do I need to isolate? I am not sick at all other than my usual asthma symptoms. My friend became quite ill with flu like symptoms the day after I saw him.

He went to the doctor and had a monoclonal antibody test, but they didn't tell him which variant he has...just that he has Covid.

Online concensus appears to be that I could still become sick 14 days later if he has Covid 19. If he has the Delta variant, I would get sick 5.61 days after exposure...so I've already passed that mark.

Just because you've been exposed to someone who has it, doesn't mean you're going to get it, even if you test positive for it. There are so many false positives, anyway.

Also, you don't need to isolate unless you feel sick. If you're not symptomatic, you won't spread it. And, if you're with someone who's tested positive and they're not symptomatic, you won't get it from them.

@PhoenixPhail A friend of mine developed symptoms the day after I went over there for a visit. He thought he had Covid, did a home test, and tested negative. Then he went into the doctor for a monoclonal antibody test and tested positive. He called me yesterday to let me know. But I am not sick right now. He is still sick after a week with sore throat, diarrhea, and all the other flu like symptoms.
@4meAndyou That's a good example of how unreliable the tests are. He could have tested positive at home and negative at the doctor's office.

I hope you don't show symptoms. If you do, try not to stress about it. The greatest likelihood is that you'll be fine.

I was with someone who had the symptoms. He even coughed in my direction and I never got sick. I also never got vaccinated and never will.

@PhoenixPhail I don't stress about most things. Mostly I am wondering how long I need to isolate, if at all.
@4meAndyou My understanding is, if you don't have any symptoms, there's no need to isolate, at all.
