I have covid and I am in the ER

I just wanted to let you know that I have tested positive for Covid and I am in the ER.

I am not doing well. This has hit me so hard very quickly and I am very scared for what is to come.

For those of you that are close know that I have struggled very much with my health and I am very immune compromised and even more so with this super bug amoeba infection in my sinuses.

Please pray or send healing vibes to me. I have never been so sick and in so much pain in my life and this is just the beginning of it.

Thank you all for your friendships here. I will update as I can. 🥺.

I wish you luck. Hopefully, you presented early enough for therapy to be offered. Even with the severity of the illness, even with there still being deaths, most who develop COVID recover. The odds are in your favor.

@samueltyler2 They say getting the antibody treatment within 5 days of onset of symptom, is best..I believe she is within that frame🌹

@Coralmist or Paxlovid. If she is immunocompromised, she would be eligible no matter how far into her illness. I wish her well. Hopefully she is fully vaccinated.
@samueltyler2 She has said elsewhere that because of her other medications, paxlovid is contra-indicated. But that still leaves room for monoclonals.

@ElwoodBlues the interactions are not absolute contraindications, and providing any treatment is always a balance of risk to benefit.

@samueltyler2 She had 4 dose already, (weird that she still catch it) and planning to get the fifth, based on her previous posting 😥

@doong No vaccine is ever 100% effective in preventing infection. We can only hope that enough immune response is generated by the vaccine that it prevents the more serious versions
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@doong Yes you can catch it vaxxed, or unvaxxed, its just when vaxxed, you have extra antibodies to minimize symptoms.

@doong Open a dictionary of your choice and read what you find under "immune-compromised "

@samueltyler2, @ElwoodBlues is right. I can’t take paxlovid because 3 of my meds are contraindicated.

I have had 4 vaccines and will be getting a 5th. I can’t even imagine how much worse this would have been for me if I hadn’t been vaccinated being immunocompromised.

@Coralmist thank you lovely 💗

@iamonfire696 Feel better soon 🤗

@iamonfire696 are you feeling better? I practiced medical toxicology and public health. it was always the philosophy that there are very few absolute contraindications, so that each had to be considered in making a decision. I'd wait on the 5th until the new vaccine is licensed, it will have protection for the original and the newer variants.

@samueltyler2 I feel absolutely horrid. I am coughing so hard and the costochondritis is flaring like crazy. I want to lay down because when I sit up the room is spinning but when I lay down the coughing gets worse.

I can’t get another booster for awhile now that I have had COVID. I never want this again 😢.

@iamonfire696 I think the monoclonal IV will truly lessen symptoms. It did for my friend within two days. She felt horrible as well, cough, exhaustion etc. Now shes doing better. Hang tight you are going to get better soon. Would you say its like vertigo when you. Sit up? Ask if you can take meclizine..its at drugstores, its for dizziness and vertigo. Helps fairly well when i had vertigo.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@Coralmist it’s definitely like vertigo. They were pushing me in the wheelchair to take me to the hospital room and I thought I was gonna throw up and I even closed my eyes.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@iamonfire696 generally "we" think of cough as a defense mechanism, to clear debris from the respiratory tract, but sometimes it has to be controlled so you can sleep, etc. I assume you are getting fluids, anti-viral therapy, steroids?
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@iamonfire696 Ask your doc if its ok if you buy Meclizine...taking two helped me most. I think it says take one, but two is what they gave me in hospital, when i got vertigo from misaligned jaw. Its like Dramamine. I think it may help you. Also ice packs near my ear and jaw helped it a bit, because the vertigo was caused by inflammation near ear.
