Got told to stay home from work because someone(not in my dept.) has Covid.

It's still out there, folks! Is this happening for any of you?

Yup. I work in IT and I have to go into the office periodically for 2 weeks at a time.

The last 2 times, I got emails from HR saying someone there had Covid and I was exposed to them...

I haven't gotten it, but it seems like its still around.

My husband is now working with a patient that another CNA was working with and now that CNA has tested positive for covid... I don't want that crap again and of course I don't want my husband to get it.

Just for the record, I heard a doctor (can’t recall who) say that it’s going to be here for thousands of years. Essentially, my life is over, if that’s the case. I’ll be isolated for the rest of my life. 😔

In the UK, no-one is required to stay at home even if they have covid themselves. Many choose to, of course, and some employers may ask them to, but there is no rule.

@MartinII Crazy isn't it. We have one of the worst viruses to hit us for over a century and we can do what we like when we get it. However, if you get a stomach illness most workplaces - especially food establishments - require you to stay away for 48 hours.

I tested my son just this morning for it - luckily it came back negative. He has a sore throat - I guess just allergies or a simple virus

Had to wear a mask and sit with divider shields spaced 6 ft apart at a face-face meeting this week at a supplier site .. no idea if anyone had it there recently.

Yeah we had a couple people on my time out last week. Their whole families got it too.

My family had something last couple weeks but we all tested negative.

I know some people who have recently been sick with it. Not me, thankfully. We had some other virus but it wasn't covid.

Yes just received a very old lady a few days back in the ICU with covid.
It's just gonna stay around forever now like other illnesses.

My sister had it but she’s been vaccinated. I believe it’s weakening her immune system. Then she went to get her booster a week after getting over it. Will probably make her immune system even weaker.

Yes, it's going to hit hard in the fall and it will be impossible to close down again. I wonder if they got COVID under control in China after that crazy shutdown?
